Created using multiple types of transparent and opaque striking borosilicate glass this acorn sculpture features an acorn suspended on a branch with transparent articulated oak leaves.  The technique of vapor deposition has been utilized to create the reflective gold sheen on the acorn by melting pure gold in the flame and allowing it to chemically bond on the surface of the acorn.  The vivid autumnal colors are created by intentionally changing the heat and oxygen levels of the flame as the sculpture is created.
